Maryland Counties on Our Service Map
Each county below has its own main roads and its own timing. Here is what that means for moving day.
Montgomery County
Montgomery County coverage runs from Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Silver Spring, and Takoma Park near the District, through Rockville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, and Clarksburg, to Damascus and Poolesville. I-270 is the county’s spine. It runs from the Capital Beltway just north of Bethesda past Rockville and Gaithersburg to I-70 in Frederick, with local and express lanes on the southern stretch. MD 355, known as Rockville Pike, runs parallel to it to the east. If you are moving into a condo or apartment building, ask about elevator reservations and loading hours before you pick a date.
Prince George’s County
Our Prince George’s County map includes Bowie, Greenbelt, College Park, Hyattsville, Laurel, Lanham, Upper Marlboro, Clinton, Fort Washington, Oxon Hill, and Accokeek. MD 4 is the main link between this county and Southern Maryland. It becomes Pennsylvania Avenue at Upper Marlboro, meets the Capital Beltway, and continues into Washington, DC. You can follow MD 4 from Calvert County to the inner Prince George’s suburbs for most of the way. Southern towns such as Brandywine, Aquasco, and Cheltenham are farther from the Beltway, so mention your exact address when you ask for a quote.
Frederick County
Frederick County coverage includes the City of Frederick and towns such as Brunswick, Middletown, Mount Airy, New Market, Walkersville, Thurmont, and Emmitsburg. I-270 ends at I-70 and US 40 in Frederick, and US 15 continues north to Thurmont and Emmitsburg. US 340 runs southwest from Frederick to Harpers Ferry, which connects Frederick County with our Jefferson County, West Virginia coverage. Towns along the Potomac side of the county, including Point of Rocks, Adamstown, Jefferson, and Knoxville, are also on our list.
Charles County
Charles County moves center on US 301, known as Crain Highway, which runs through Waldorf and La Plata to the Nice/Middleton Bridge. Our coverage includes Waldorf, La Plata, Indian Head, Bryans Road, Hughesville, Newburg, Port Tobacco, and Cobb Island. The bridge lands in King George County, Virginia, which gives Charles County moves a southern route into Virginia without the Beltway.
Calvert County
MD 4 is the only north-south arterial highway in Calvert County. MD 2 and MD 4 share the road from Solomons north to Huntingtown, where they split. Prince Frederick is the county seat. Our coverage includes Prince Frederick, Huntingtown, Owings, Dunkirk, Chesapeake Beach, North Beach, Lusby, Saint Leonard, and Solomons. County transportation plans flagged morning and afternoon backups on the approach to the Thomas Johnson Bridge at Solomons, so consider a midday window for southern Calvert moves. For waterfront homes in Solomons, North Beach, or Chesapeake Beach, describe the road and driveway at the estimate so we can plan the approach.
