Piano Movers for Uprights, Spinets, and Grands

Regal Moving Services provides piano moving for upright, spinet, console, and grand pianos, as part of a full home move or as a single-item move. Our movers plan every piano move in advance, protect your home before moving the piano, and wrap the instrument in moving pads for the trip. We move pianos locally and on interstate moves.

A piano is often more than furniture. It may be the one a parent learned on, or the one a child is learning on now. Our owner’s father taught him to protect the piece a customer tells you matters most. With a piano, that’s usually the first thing we hear about.

Why a Piano Needs Its Own Plan

Pianos are heavy, top-heavy, and delicate. The work is less about strength and more about the route. Before move day, your move consultant notes the piano’s type and size, every stair and turn on the way out, and where it will go in the new home.

How Our Movers Handle a Piano Move

The first step is protecting the house. Our movers lay floor runners along the path, cover stairwells and banisters, and put door jamb protectors on every doorway the piano will pass through. These come free with every home move.

Next, the piano is wrapped. Moving pads cover the case, the keyboard lid is closed and protected, and the finish is shielded from bumps along the way. Upright pianos stay upright. A grand piano is usually moved on its side, with the legs and pedal lyre taken off and wrapped separately, so it fits through doorways safely.

The piano then moves along the planned route, secured for the truck ride. At the new home, our movers carry it to the spot you choose, reattach any parts removed for the move, and set it in place.
