Local Movers for Moves Close to Home

Regal Moving Services provides local moving for families, renters, and homeowners moving a short distance, whether that’s down the street, across town, or to a nearby city. Our local movers pack, load, drive, unload, and set up your new home, often in a single move day. Every local move includes free home guard protection, free furniture protection, and a dedicated move coordinator.

A short move is still a big day. Our owner’s father used to remind him that what feels like another day at work for a mover is an important day in someone else’s life. We plan local moves with that in mind, no matter how few miles are involved.

Why a Short Move Still Needs a Plan

It’s easy to assume a local move is simple because the drive is short. In practice, most of the work is the same as any move: packing, protecting both homes, loading carefully, and placing furniture where it belongs. The difference is timing. With both homes close together, you can plan the move day around your keys, your closing, or your lease.

How to Plan Your Local Move

Start with your dates. If your old lease ends the same day your new one starts, or your closing and move-in fall on the same day, tell your move coordinator. We’ll plan the day so the truck isn’t waiting on keys. If the dates leave a gap, our climate-controlled facility can bridge it with short-term storage.

Next, decide what you’ll handle and what you’ll hand off. Some customers pack everything themselves and let our movers do the heavy lifting. Others choose full packing, or just have us pack the kitchen, the garage, and fragile items. We provide free packing materials and packing advice for customers who pack their own boxes.

Finally, set aside a first-night box with your essentials, and tell us which boxes you need first. We load those last so they come off the truck first, and we set them where you can reach them.
